Take a Ride With the Swiss Air Force’s F-5 Jet Demo Team

Last year, YouTube debuted the 360-degree video function, allowing people to upload specially-recorded videos that allow you to “rotate” around using your smartphone or the cursor on your computer, “seeing” everything the cameras see as though you’re right in the center of the action. From Blue Angels in-flight footage to videos of landings taken in heavy Boeing 777-300 airliners, this feature takes aviation fandom to a whole new level. So I’m probably enabling your aviation addiction by sharing this.

Check out the Patrouille Suisse (“Swiss Patrol” in French) from inside the cockpit of their Northrop F-5E Tiger IIs while they fly in formation over the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup in Wengen, Switzerland. Also included in the footage is an Airbus A321 of Swiss International Air Lines, the Swiss flag carrier. The Patrouille Suisse has flown the F-5E since 1996, transitioning from the Hawker Hunter, last flown by the team in 1994.
